THE FARM

They were almost to be two family houses, the two giant granaries that were born in the center of Arouca. But the appeal of tourism was stronger and today, at Quintãs Farm Houses, you can sleep overlooking the farm, in a rural environment and with many animals – dozens of species of ducks, geese and swans, Muntiacus elk, Lusitanian horses, zebras, Canadian deer, cobo-leche (a species of antelope), as well as chickens, rabbits and dogs…

It is not a zoo, but rather an owner's passion that began with a small collection of ducks. It's Portugal's Farm Stay, with a twist!

The interior of the three apartments, with an equipped kitchen, fireplace for the winter and simple decor, follows the commitment to sustainable wood materials. The added value is the view and the peace that can be reached even inside the apartments. Breakfast is not at a hotel, but at a farm, and comes in the form of a basket with seasonal fruit, milk, cheese, fresh bread, jam and Arouca convent sweets. It's an idyllic place  sought after by families with small children who walk around with wheelbarrows and wellies (offers from the farm). Parents can relax in the beautiful outdoor lounge or on the canvas sun loungers, next to a small granary and pond.

“When customers arrive, they almost always want to see the farm before entering the apartment”
